Amazonite is an extremely ancient gemstone that has been prized for its beauty and healing powers for many centuries. The pale green/blue mineral rock is believed to have been treasured as far back as the 10th century BC. According to legend, the warrior women of the ancient Amazon tribe in Brazil used Amazonite stones to adorn their shields, cure illnesses and heal wounds,
Ancient Egyptians carved Chapter Seven, The Judgment of Osiris, of the Book of the Dead onto slabs of Amazonite rock and adorned themselves in jewellery made from Amazonite stones. A scarab ring and a number of other objects carved from Amazonite were found with the treasures of Tutankhamen.
It is also referred to as a Stone of Truth and Courage, It imparts balance and harmony, calms aggression, makes the irrational more rational and quiets the mind. As an added benefit it is also said to improve married life!

WE DESIGN AND MAKE THEM
All of our designs are handmade by us using either Bronze, Copper or Fine Silver Metal Clay. We think that It’s very much like Magic! Just like the Nature that inspires us!
There’s a wonderful range of colours in the Bronze Clay. They range from a silvery white to a colour that is almost copper. So as a result Allie often makes pieces that are multicoloured !
All the Bronzes and the Copper oxidise naturally over time, so a little polish now and then will keep it shiny. Although a lot of people like the antique look this patina gives the metal. Mainly because the pieces appear to have been excavated from an ancient site.
We make all of our Bronze, Copper and Silver items using Metal Clays. These consist of very fine, recycled, metal particles mixed with an organic binder. Therefore this results in a material that looks and behaves just like ordinary pottery clay.
However, when it is fired in a kiln, at temperatures exceeding 800 degrees Celsius, the binder burns away and the Metal Particles fuse together. This is a process called sintering and it causes a new piece of metal to form, in whatever shape we have sculpted or moulded it.
