Silver Celtic Tree-of-Life Pendant
This is such a Beautiful Handmade Silver Celtic Tree-of-Life Pendant! It’s so perfect for a gift or just as a treat for yourself!
A bit of Legend…..
According to the Ancient Celtic Druids, the Tree of Life possessed very special powers. So when an area was cleared for settlement, a single tree would be left in the centre, this then became known as the Tree of Life. As well as providing food, warmth and shelter to the population it was also an important meeting place for high ranking members of the tribe.
As it also provided nourishment to animals, this tree was believed to take care of all life on Earth. The Celts also believed that each tree was an ancestor of a human being. It is said that Celtic tribes would only inhabit locations where such a tree was present.
Our representation of the Tree-of-Life measures 3 x 2 cm and hangs on a 46 cm (18″) Sterling Silver chain.
Every Silver Celtic Tree-of-Life Pendant is individually Handmade by us here in the Scottish Highlands. Therefore no two are exact;y the same!

How they are Made
All of our Handmade Silver and Bronze Items are made using a substance called Metal Clay. This Consists of very fine recycled metal particles mixed with an organic binder. This results in a material that looks and feels much like pottery clay.
This clay is air dried first, then it is fired in a kiln, at temperatures exceeding 800 degrees Celsius. This process causes the binder to burn away and the metal particles to fuse together.
The result of this firing is a new piece of metal in whatever shape we happen to have sculpted or moulded it. It’s simply magic!
Any piece of Silver marketed in the UK, that is over a weight of 7.78 grams, has to be tested and Hallmarked by an official Assay Office to be sold legally . So, as we are registered with the Edinburgh Assay Office, our heavier creations bear our personal Hallmark.
Commonly Sterling Silver is the most widely seen form and is 925 parts silver in 1000, the rest being cooper, which is added to give the metal more strength. Therefore, our chains, earring wires and other findings used on these pieces are sterling silver and are purchased from UK companies.
However our own handmade elements are of a purer quality, being .999 or .960 Silver.
